Scholarship Details:
The purpose of the Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation (LRAEF) scholarship program is to support the continuing education of individuals pursuing a career in the culinary and/or hospitality industry. Scholarship awards are merit-based and may vary based on available funds. The LRAEF reserves the right to make exceptions based on circumstance. Checks will be issued directly to the educational institution after confirmation of student’s full-time enrollment is received. Funds may be used for tuition, books, fees, room, and board. Funds are only good for one school year cycle. Students need to reapply each year to be considered for a scholarship in the next cycle.

The Modern Mountain "Rise Up" Baking Scholarship is for students looking to pursue a professional career in Baking and Pastry Arts. One-time grant students currently enrolled in or planning to attend a culinary arts or hospitality management program. The scholarship is open to all students who are currently enrolled in culinary or hospitality programs, as well as high school seniors, GED students, and non-traditional learning students who plan to enroll in similar programs at the start of the next semester.

Louisiana Culinary Institute would like to extend the Culinary Skills Scholarship to eligible students that have expressed an early interest in a career in the culinary and hospitality industry by completing a high school course in the areas of culinary education, nutrition, home economics, food science, or other related industry preparation course.
This scholarship has been designed to financially assist students that have shown an early commitment through course experience to preparing for a career in the culinary or hospitality industry.
The following scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen and transfer students with valid transcripts verifying the successful completion of the above mentioned coursework. In most instances, no additional applications are required. This is a non-renewable scholarship that cannot be duplicated by the award of a Louisiana Culinary Institute ProStart Scholarship and is based on available funding. This scholarship is for eligible coursework other than the ProStart curriculum.
Guidelines:
Scholarship award recipients will be notified at least 14 days prior to the start of their first semester at LCI. The recipient must accept the award within one (1) week of the award offer and agree to the rules and guidelines of the scholarship or the scholarship will be rescinded and made available to another eligible student. The award is contingent upon the successful completion of the first semester. Should the student drop or withdraw during the first semester, the award will be removed from the student’s first semester tuition credit.
The award recipient will receive a non-renewable scholarship in the amount of $500.
Eligibility and General Requirements:
1. The applicant must have scored a grade of “B” or higher in the eligible course.
2. The applicant must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher from the previous institution.
3. The applicant must successfully complete a full semester at LCI.
Out-of-state students face a unique financial challenge when relocating to attend LCI. The Louisiana Culinary Institute’s Non-Louisiana Resident Scholarship has been designed with these needs in mind and will be awarded to eligible students in order to assist with the additional financial burden of relocation.
The following scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen and transfer students with out-of-state residency status, pending available funding. In most instances, no additional applications are required. Out-of-State status must be verifiable and awards are contingent upon students maintaining eligibility requirements.
Guidelines:
Scholarship award recipients will be notified at least 14 days prior to the start of their first semester at LCI. The recipient must accept the award within one (1) week of the award offer and agree to the rules and guidelines of the scholarship or the scholarship will be rescinded and made available to another eligible student.
The award recipient will receive a scholarship in the amount of $500 which will be renewed each semester for a total maximum award of $2,000 over a four (4) semester period. Should a student drop or withdraw during the semester, the $500 award for that semester will be removed from the student’s tuition credit. The scholarship is renewable based on the successful completion of each semester.
Eligibility and General Requirements:
1. The applicant must be a resident of a state other than Louisiana.
2. The applicant must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher from the previous institution.
3. The applicant must maintain continuous enrollment for scholarship renewal.
4. A GPA of 2.0 or higher is required for scholarship renewal for the following semester.
