Learn valuable culinary skills this summer with other high school students. Our chef instructors will teach the basics of sanitation, proper knife handling & cutting techniques, and to create a delicious 4 course lunch. They will also learn step-by-step lessons in cutting, filling and icing a cake from our chef instructors. Prepare for a day of creating and experience a day in the life of a Louisiana Culinary student!
Details:
- Open to high school students entering their Junior and Senior years along with 2024 high school graduates.
- The total cost for the course is $250 per participant which includes hands on instruction, apron, food materials, recipe booklet, and lunch. Any student who completes the class will receive a certificate that can be used as a $500 credit to be applied toward tuition upon enrollment at LCI. The credit is valid for 2 calendar years from high school graduation date.
- Participants must wear closed toe, non-slip shoes, no jewelry, and long hair must be tied back or hat must be worn. A waiver will be signed before entering into the kitchens. Any participant under the age of 18 will be required to have a parent or guardian sign the waiver.
- Capacity is limited. We adhere to a first come, first served policy. Tickets are required to be purchased prior to this class.
